Hey everyone, my post comes on a Friday this time. I’ve been caught up in a few things this last 2 weeks as I’ve been working on some new artwork. Had fun exploring some new ideas, working towards completing some larger drawings and also creating some new plant designs (I’ll share some pictures on my instagram story in the days to come & also some news, so stay tuned).
Today I want to share with you about patterns. I have been working for a while on creating seamless patterns from my plant designs, and photoshop helped me a great deal to achieve that, as it has some fancy tools (a set of mirror like process imaging tool). As I have so many plant designs, I had to select a few. Then I ended up creating several seamless patterns for each design. It was a big volume of work, but I wanted to have a first iteration and just go with it without concerning myself with uploading or sharing every new thing I ended up creating.
Bellow are only a few of the explorations I did. I find them really beautiful . They are rich in details and make a great first impression.
I have a patterns library on Spoonflower, and if you didn’t know, Spoonflower is an online wallpaper, home decor and fabric marketplace featuring print-on-demand products. So you can order pillow covers, sheet sets or wallpaper with any design present on the platform, including the ones I have created.
You can explore the 2 collections I currently have available there at this link. One collection is Christmas themed and the other one is a mix of botanical designs. All of them are created from my pressed plants designs. You can see pieces of flowers, leaves, petals as they all mingle together to create each pattern.
I’m already thinking of some products with the Christmas designs, so if you are into some early Christmas shopping this will be for you (more details soon).
