{12} - Lines
April - the sunny season begins
Hi guys, as I was saying at the beginning of the year, I have in plan to create 6 large drawings this year. Two months for each drawing so to speak.
Two months have passed. The first drawing is not completed yet, I started working on the second one instead at the beginning of March.
I had to take a break from the first one. Itās drawn using Japanese calligraphy ink. I am using very fine brushes to draw the lines so the process in quite tedious and time consuming.
Despite it not being finalised yet, I wanted to share with you how it looks like so far. It will be interesting to have a comparison at the end when I finish the drawing. Thought the paper seems to be in gradient it actually has one solid warm grey color. The effect is due to the lighting in the room when I took the picture.
These starting months of 2024 were not as productive for me. But I expect that in the months to come, along with the warmer weather, Iāll be more enthusiastic to spend time creating.
Drawing in the āfolding screensā style gives me a burst of energy. I have so many ideas and things Iād like to created but I didnāt quite have the drive to draw.
I really like how detailed and refined asian artwork is. It is truly a thing of beauty. I love reading about it, looking up albums in antique shops, researching and finding out about different asian crafts. The craftsmen seem to be so mindful and present in their practice. Practicing and learning a craft seems to be a work of art in itself, it is a mindful process.
Everything that is done slowly, with presence and intention seems to be so special and pure.
No hurry, no rush, just fully immersed.
Beautiful moments creating beautiful things.
Thanks for coming along this process of creation. Hope it inspires you in some way too!
